Programme format
The emphasis will be on learning-by doing in a simulated courtroom setting with constructive faculty critique and video tape review of the participants’ performances. Later, you will be able to repeat your performance to incorporate what you have learned. You will also benefit from seeing other participants performances and hearing their critiques.
This supportive, non-competitive simulation plus faculty demonstrations, suggested readings, and personal attention helps you develop a unique, personal, and highly effective style of advocacy.
Have your trial skills through intensive practice with expert feedback. This exciting programme gives you the opportunity to practice trial techniques and strategies under the watchful eyes of experienced litigators and judges, who offer constructive and practical suggestions in improving your technique.

Carefully selected faculty
The BLA-LEC strives to select a dynamic faculty for each programme, based on their professional expertise in advocacy. They will bring their experience to your learning performance, as well as by lecture demonstration. Faculty members know there is no one way to present certain issues. They will help you find the technique that best fits your particular abilities and strengths.
The success of this methodology depends on experienced faculty who have been trained in the NITA method of constructive critique. It has been refined and perfected over the years, and we are proud to call the technique our own. While other programmes may offer constructive critique, few, if any, can promise the thoroughness offered by using NITA methodology. This method was introduced in South Africa in 1986 by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy Denver USA.
